MV Amba is the first liveaboard to operate in Haa-Alifu, the most northerly of the Maldivian atolls. Little expense has been spared to make the boat as comfortable as possible. There are a total of 10 cabins on board. On the lower deck there are 7 twin berth A/C cabins, (each roughly 13sq metres), which also carry a fan, mini bar, wardrobe and large ensuite bathrooms with showers. On the upper deck there are a further 2 double bed cabins and a huge master cabin that offers panoramic views, a private sundeck and roughly 25sq metres of deck space. All the upper deck cabins are fan cooled and have large windows that allow for good ventilation.

There is a spacious A/C saloon equipped with comfortable sofas and chairs, a TV, DVD player and an audio system. There are two bars on board the boat, one in the saloon and one on the upper sun deck. Water skiing is also available from Amba’s speedboat for a local charge. In a recent refit the boat was given an extra 15 tonnes of ballast distributed evenly through the hull, making the boat very stable.

The crew serve three meals a day including tea and coffee. Once a week a barbeque is organised on an uninhabited island. Water is not included in the cost but is available at $2 per bottle for 1.5L bottle of water. The bar offers a range of drinks including beer, wine and imported spirits.
